About Mykonos
A beautiful island in the Cyclades, Mykonos looks just like the postcards: white little houses with flowers and blue windows and doors, hand painted streets and windmills.
Architecture
Typical Cycladic cubist style of architecture. Small white cubes sprinkled over the landscape. Cubic houses with flat roofs, wooden colored windows, flowered balconies and the multitude of paved narrow streets.
What to See
Walk around at Chora, have a drink in the little harbor and visit the Paraportiani church. Visit the Mykonos museums: an archaeological, a folk museum, a maritime, a cultural and a private one with old rooms and furniture. The little village Ano Mera is worth a visit: small, pretty and quiet. Visit the monastery and the little church museum from the 15th century.
Beaches
Platis Yialos and Elia beach are very popular beaches. Do not miss Paragha beach, Ornos beach, Aghios Yiannis, Agrari, Paradise and Super Paradise. Beautiful beaches also in Aghios Stefanos in the north and Kalafatis beach recommended wind surfing.
Nightlife
Most of the bars and clubs are in Mykonos Chora. At The Caprice bar in Little Venice, from early afternoon, you can enjoy amazing sunset views. Night parties go on until the early morning hours in the famous beach bars of Mykonos like Cavo Paradiso and Super Paradise bar.
Shopping
All kinds of shops can be found in Mykonos: jewelry, clothing and shoe shops, art galleries, souvenir shops.
